"His name is unknown" - 10 minute play

Sherry

[Sherry is laying in her bed writing in her journal]
- Dear diary I took another jog in the park and saw him... him who's name is still unknown. I think im going to take another jog and if I see him again, i am going to at least try and talk to him.

Good Night Diary.

[DING.....DING.....DING(the alarm goes off)]

Carry

- AY!! sis wake up! Before your late again.

Sherry

- [rubbing her eyes and stretching] I'm up.

[ as sherry is trying to go back to bed, her sister jumps on her]

Carry

- NOPE! Wake up. OH! and we got to pay the bill today.

Sherry

- Okay. we will later today. JUST GET OFF ME!

[ as Sherry is talking to carry through the bathroom door carry is sitting on the bed listening.]

Sherry

- sooo i saw him again today while i was jogging.

Carry

- ugh! not "him" again. He probably has a wife or something.

Sherry

[sticks her head out the bathroom door giving carry a evil look]
- No, he wasn't wearing any ring.

Carry

umm. maybe because he was jogging.

Sherry

- Stop trying to make excuses for me not to talk to him.

Carry

- [looks shocked at what sherry said]TRUST ME ! i want you to get a man! I just dont want you to make a fool of yourself trying to hit on him... Actually how are you gonna hit on him?

Sherry

[screaming through the bathroom door to make sure her sister hears her]
- Well.... I was going to stop him and say hi.

Carry

WOW! sometimes i think your not my sister.

Sherry

- Shut up! well than ms. I know how to get a whole bunch of men but cant seem to keep one of them, you tell me what i should do.

Carry

- Very funny sherry, But dont just stop him while he is running and say hi. Try bumping into him or..[increases her voice] find someway to get infront of him while running and drop something. He should try and stop you to give it back, then start a conversation.

[ sherry comes out the bathroom putting her hair up in a ponytail]

Sherry

- okay. you know what ? you are pretty descent with helping me out. I will try your idea and if it dont work im going back to my idea.

Carry

- It should work. c'mon! lets go!

Sherry

- okay let me grab my purse[leaves the bedroom]

[END SCENE]

[Sherry returns from work in a rush to get ready so she can go for jog]
Sherry
[runs into her bedroom, while running trying to unbutton her shirt and check the time]
[talking to herself in a rush]

- Where the hell are my jogging pants!

[checks the time one more time]

- okay three minutes

[she goes in the bathroom and on a little make-up and puckers her lips while putting on chap stick and tries to make her cleavage show a little more than usual]

- oh!... what should i..... what should i drop?... A LIGHTER... no ! he is going to think i smoke.

[while looking around she is turning in circles and doesnt realize it and stops and looks in the cupboard and her eyes get wide]

- A face rag!

[grabs the face rag and runs out the door.. a couple seconds later .. she runs back in the door and grabs her shoes]
[END SCENE]

[Sherry is sitting on the bench waiting for the man she likes to arrive]

- [whispers] c'mon [looking at her watch]

[When she looks up from her watch she see's him running towards her she hurries up and gets up and starts running and after 20 second, she pulls the rag rom her hip and drops it and continues to run]
Cameron

- Umm.. excuse me miss!![ trying to catch up to sherry.. taps her shoulder] .. you droped your rag.

Sherry

Ohhhh... [flirtatious laugh] why thank you so much.

Cameron
[Talks in his mind... while looking her up and down licking his lips]

- o my goodness !!she is so beautiful... she looks very intelligent too... i have to get to know her.
[cameron shakes his head as if he came back to reality]

Sherry

- so are from around this part of town?

cameron

- yea i live right in the apartment near lexiton ave. and pines ave.

Sherry

- [she screams excited] are you serious!{coughs to lower her voice] your serious?

Cameron

- yea?[looking confused to why she is excited] why?

Sherry

-[ tries to sound cool and calm] ohh just because , i live in those apartments too. what is your name?

Cameron

-Oh my goodness! and i never saw you? this is crazy.My name is Cameron How about you?[he thinks to himself, should he ask her out on a date?]

Sherry

- my name is sherry.... i know nothing big.

Cameron

- no your name is beautiful and it suits you. well...... since we live so close.. how would you like to out to eat sometime?

Sherry

- [thinking to herself.... okayy he just really ask me out. I thought i was going to have to do that]
umm... yea i would love to. where at and when?

Cameron

- well i was thinking tomorrow since it is saturday and around 7pm if that is alright with you?

Sherry

- yea that is alright . i would love to..

Cameron

- Okay good! i'll meet outside our apartment at 7.

Sherry

- okayy cameron. I'll see then bye [she continues her jog back home]

Cameron
[looking at her from behind]

- [says outloud to himself] mmmm...mmmmm.....mmmmm she is something special.

{END SCENE}
[back at her apartment. carry is in her room watching tv laying on the edge as sherry walks in]

Sherry

- awwwwww[falls on top of the bed with her arms spread]

Carry

-dont tell me it worked!!

Sherry
[big smile on her face]

- YES! his name is cameron .... he ask me out on a date tomorrow!

Carry

- Thats good sis! [gives her a hug]

Sherry
[goes in the bathroom]

- I think this is gonna work out carry.

Carry

- I really hope so, because you seem really happy.
